Wal-Mart has opened its first Apple retail store in Texas and the company is planning to open a second one in the coming months, with plans to expand into more states.
Walmart announced the first store in Houston in May, and the Texas location is the first to be located in the city, said Michael O’Connell, vice president of retail sales for Wal-mart.
The Wal-marts in Texas were previously located in Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
The Wal-Marts in Houston are currently only open to employees, but Wal- Mart plans to open up all of its stores to the public in the next several months.
The first store opened in September 2017 in the Heights area of Houston, where it currently has a full service wine store.
Wal-Mart is also looking to expand its retail presence in the U.S. and is working with several other U.K. and Canadian retailers, including Target, B&Q and Zappos.
